Connecting you to schools in need

Providing children with a path to prosperity and happiness.

At Recycling Computers for Schools, our aim is to link generous businesses with schools in dire need of second hand computers. These computers will open doors and provide opportunities for children to gain a happy and prosperous future for them and their families.

We are very grateful to all the individuals and companies who have helped us over the years.

We have been donating computers since 2007, we’ve had over 15 years experience in sourcing, collecting, sanitizing and distributing second hand computers for free to needy schools and families.

All of this work is done by volunteers providing their time, expertise and sometimes funds in order to get second hand computers from those who are capable, and willing to those who would benefit the most.

Major Donors

We are very thankful to everyone who has shared whatever they could with us, whether it was their time, expertise or computers, from a teenagers old laptop to businesses whose computers had reached their planned lifespan and were due for a hardware refresh.

Canterbury University

This was the first large donor that we were involved with. In 2007, working with other like minded individuals we were able to recycle nearly three hundred second hand Canterbury University PCs. These were prepared in a University property that was provided for our use for several months and then we shipped the rebuilt PCs to the Pacific Islands.

Spark Foundation

In 2018, Spark Foundation which is the charitable organization for Spark NZ, donated more than 30 second hand PCs which we wiped all data off and rebuilt with a fresh copy of Windows 7 OS. These PCs were shipped to a needy secondary school in Fiji. We were fortunate enough to also be able to actually go to the school and install the computers in the school library.

Spark Foundation

In 2020 just as we went into Covid lockdown, Spark Foundation donated 60 laptops which were prepped and shipped to Fiji. The laptops were distributed to more than 10 needy schools and several non government organizations.
